Transport

Larnaca International Airport is the main entry point, serving the town and resort of the same name on the Greek (southern) side. Ercan Airport, on the Turkish side, gets fewer visitors while travel by ferry is more of a novelty. Most people drive between the island’s major locations since buses are infrequent and there are no trains.

Driving

Driving is on the left in Cyprus and the roads are of mixed quality. The main highway between Paralimni and Paphos is in surprisingly good condition and has up to six lanes in places, but country roads are often lacking. Bends are sharp, particularly in the Trodos Mountains, which should only be driven in daylight.
