Barcelona Airport is the 2nd busiest airport in Spain with regard to passenger traffic as more than 30 million passengers used the airport in 2008 and 321,491 airplanes had used the runway. It is the main airport for Barcelona city and other small towns and cities near it along the Costa Brava. It is situated at a distance of twelve kilometers from the city centre.
Terminal A and Terminal B’s ground floor hosts 19 multimedia booths that has internet connections. The latest Terminal C is a swanky and sophisticated terminal that is 2200 square meters in size. It also has fourteen check in counters apart from the usual sales counters and airline offices for baggage claims. Vueling Airlines is the only airline currently using this terminal although the ticket sales office in Terminal B is still operational.
Cheap car hire at Barcelona:
Presently, five main car hire companies offer their services for Barcelona airport passengers. Their respective offices can be easily found with the airport premises.
However, you may also see other not so famous car hire companies inside both Terminal B and Terminal C. They work just off the airport.
If visiting Barcelona city and its sights is of the utmost importance, then taking a car on rental is the best option. However, if you do not mind traveling and experiencing the city first hand, you can take the highly efficient public transport as well. The only problem with taking a car on hire is that finding parking in Barcelona is very difficult.
