Car Hire Prices to Drop in 2011

According to reports, there is finally some good news for holidaymakers on the horizon. Apparently car hire industry experts predict that the cost of hiring a car will be significantly cheaper in 2011 than in the last couple of years. Right now, car prices have actually jumped up as much as 500 percent to top summer destinations. This is pricing some people out of the car hire industry.

However, just recently Holiday Autos, a UK car hire broker, held an event where they invited key car hire suppliers from all over the world to reflect on the main challenges in 2010. As many know, 2010 in particular saw major disruptions due to the Icelandic volcanic eruption. However, things like strikes and some lingering effects from the economic downturn were a big problem in 2010 as well.

Of course, experts are not worried and are saying that 2011 is going to be a much better year. This is partly due to the fact that car hire companies are finally gaining a little bit of footing following the recession. During these past years, these companies were doing everything that they could just to keep their companies a float.

So what will be the upside of this? Well holidaymakers are going to be given more choices in 2011. This means that there will be more cars available, and they will be offered at better prices. However, experts do point out that there will be some countries that will take longer to see these effects.

Places like Greece and France are still facing their own problems. For example, in Greece, there is a big general strike that just will not go away. Due to this, these areas will take a while to get back on track.
