Dollar Thrifty Gets a New Chairman
Marianna LeeThe well-known car rental giant, Dollar Thrifty, has just recently confirmed that it will appoint Richard Neu as its new chairman with immediate effect. Mr Neu will replace Thomas Capo, who confirmed that he was stepping down from the board next year after serving for 20 years.
Dollar Thrifty chief executive and president, Scott Thompson, said that Tom has been a mainstay of the board. His deep knowledge of the company and the automotive industry has made him an invaluable member of the Dollar Thrifty team. This goes double during times when the company has been faced with significant challenges like in recent years.
Scott went on to say that they thank him for his contribution to the company’s success. They look forward to his continued association with Dollar Thrifty until his retirement in 2011.
Mr Neu, who will Board at the 2011 annual meeting of stockholders, has been a director of the company since back in February of 2006. Most recently, he served as the chief financial officer, treasure and director of Charter One Financial.
Thompson finished up by saying that they are very pleased that Rick Neu has agreed to assume the chairmanship. Rick brings a wealth of experience and perspective to the Board. They are very confident that the company will continue to thrive under his leadership.
Right now Dollar Thrifty has approximately 300 corporate locations in the United States and Canada. The company also employes some 6,000 employees in North America alone. Thus, it is very easy to see why Dollar Thrifty is a giant in the car rental industry.
