More snow looms for UK
Lucy WilliamsThe past couple of weeks has been a nightmare for the UK as snowy and icy conditions have swept the nation leaving many of us stranded and not being able to get to work. For many residents it has been an obstacle of juggling the kids off from school with working from home. The recent warmer weather has led to a big thaw and we are experiencing the rain and sleet, but forecasters are predicting that the snow and cold spell will be back again.
The evening time and early morning is still cold and is leading to many roads still being very icy and catching motorists unaware as they venture out into the freezing conditions. Many pictures have been floating around of cars and trucks ending up in ditches, amid a lack of proper care when driving, in what seems like better conditions. With much of last week’s snow melting away it has led to localised flooding in parts of Britain particularly in the northwest where Tranmere Football Club have not played a game due weather since the 4th January.
The next few weeks are certainly going to be some where we should all take extra care as Mother Nature decides what we are in for, for the next few weeks. As with the previous travel warning for motorists, they should take extra care in giving themselves more time to get to their destination as well as checking on a regular basis that their car is road worthy with tyre pressures, anti-freeze etc…
