New Program Allows American Airlines Passengers to Choose Meals Before a Flight
Marianna LeeIs picking a meal hard when on a flight? Well, American Airlines seems to think so. To counteract this “problem,” American Airlines introduced a brand new program which will allow its premium fliers to book their meal before they ever leave the ground. This new program was just launched this past Monday.
American Airlines is now claiming to be the very first domestic airline to allow its passengers to review the meals that they will be served on a flight before they even depart. Not only can they look over the menu, but they can even go as far as to book a meal before the flight. This new service can be found on the airline’s main website on their “View Reservation” page.
Of course, this new program is also going to help the airline save on the cost of food as well. Just think about it. The airline now knows how many of each meal they need to take on each flight. They can take a few extras just to be sure, but for the most part, they can cut down on the number of meals that they have to bring along.
Rob Friedman, who is the American Airlines’ Vice President of Marketing, said that their entree reservation program is yet another example of how they want to improve the travel experience for everyone who is flying with them. They really want American Airlines to stand out among the other airlines in the industry.
