Research Shows that Brits Are Skeptical About Booking With Small Travel Firms
Marianna LeeNew research, which was done by TripAdvisor, shows that about 91 percent of British that were surveyed are more nervous now about booking their holiday with a less well known travel firm. This news comes just following the collapse of many tour operators all over the UK. It is no wonder why British holidaymakers are feeling nervous about which company they choose to book their vacation with.
Just last week, the collapse of Kiss Flights marked the 13 British travel company to go under this year. This fall of Kiss Flights came just after the collapses of other well known travel groups like Globespan and Goldtrail. All of these collapses happened within a few months of each other. This brand new research by TripAdvisor involved some 2,600 British travelers in the last 48 hours. The survey itself produced some very troubling news for smaller independent travel firms, as people are going to be less likely to book with them.
A spokesperson for TripAdvisor, Emma O’Boyle, said that with so many people uncertain about their rights regarding compensation and repatriation, it is perhaps not shocking that nine out of ten Brits are now thinking twice before choosing a travel firm that they have not heard of. This big lack of confidence could see the larger, more well known travel firms benefit. However, it could mean the end of a lot smaller and less known companies.
Right now it is not all about price like it was at the start of the year. Now it’s all about who has the most reliable brand. Companies that have been around for a long time and that people are comfortable with will bring in more consumers than companies that are less known and just offering a good price.
