Scandinavian Carrier SAS said to be Europe’s Most Punctual Airline

Reports now show that the well known Scandinavian carrier SAS has a reason to be happy. That is because this airline has now been listed as Europe’s most on-time airline this summer. This is the second year in a row that the airline has been given this title.

Flightstats, which is a company that monitors flight arrival and departure times, found that more than 90 percent of this airline’s flights arrived on time during the period from May to July of this year. This, of course, beats out all other airlines in Europe and makes it the most punctual.

Of course, the good news for the airline does not stop there. Apparently SAS was found to be the world’s most punctual airline for the month of July. Now that is an accomplishment that many airlines do not get the honor of achieving.

During this same time span, Ryanair’s punctuality was at 69.18 percent. This was still a little bit higher than British Airways’ on-time rating of just 68.22 percent. EasyJet also had a pretty low on-time arrival rating of just 52.45 percent. Thus, it is easier to now see just how much further ahead of the game SAS is when compared side by side to other airlines.

In wake off easyJet’s pretty bad performance, its founder Sir Stelios Haji Ioanno warned that he was going to consider revoking the “easy” brand name from the carrier. The airline will have to reduce its average delay to less than 15 minutes by October in order to keep the “easy” name.
