Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group Inc. claim that rental cars are in short supply and it is common for visitors to not be able to hire a car on arriving at the busy Tulsa International Airport during the week. The problem is affecting the whole country and not just Tulsa, as many airport officials say that there has been a huge rise in complaints about the lack of hire cars available.

The parent company of Dollar Rent A Car and Thrifty Car Rental is Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group Inc. They have reported that they used a total of 104,648 vehicles for the first six months of 2009, which shows a 12.9 per cent decrease when compared to the first six months of 2008.
