YouTube remove promiscuous video promoting Denmark
Simon BracknellComplaints rolled in since YouTube showed a video aimed at promoting Denmark as a tourist destination as it was deemed too promiscuous. YouTube has now removed the ‘offensive’ video that showed a young lady with blonde hair looking for the man who had fathered her child during a holiday the previous year. The video was defended by the makers of the video as they claimed that the story it portrayed was designed to be a sweet one.
Authorities have also jumped into the subject by stating that the video was not very well thought out and that it did not portray the country in a positive light. Complaints were mainly based on the fact that the video was made with tax payer’s money and how the video portrayed a grotesque picture of tourism in the country.
Another complaint was that the three-minute video clip sowed Denmark as a place to go for cheap sex and that it was promoting sex tourism rather than traditional tourism. Before the removal of the video, the clip had attracted almost one million viewers and copies are now floating around the Internet and YouTube as is often the case when a popular video clip is taken away.
