The instructions for pick up

The instructions for pick up should have said to call the staff for a pick up as it was a long walk in the heat and poorly sign posted. When we got there they said we should have called them for a lift!

Malta Airport is the only airport in Malta. It is situated between the village Gudja and Luqa. Globally Malta Airport is also known as the Valletta airport because the airport is situated eight kilometers away from the city's capital Valletta. Local Maltese citizens call the airport as Luqa airport.

Malta Airport is completely managed by a public limited company called Malta International Airport Plc. Malta Airport is also known for its annual air show which attracts a lot of foreigners. The Airport is designed in such a way that it can occupy about five million passengers per annum.

The service at the Malta Airport is excellent. They are well connected with all the means of transport to ferry you to the local destinations. You can find car hire counters within the airport. Lots of options are open if you are looking for cheap car hires. You can car hire at any point of time, as car hire services are available round the clock to serve the passengers. Car hire charges here are fixed, so that if you are new to Malta, you don't get cheated. Pre-paid tickets are available at the welcome hall in arrival terminal.

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

Most reservations will receive confirmation within minutes after payment takes place. We recommend contacting our Booking Department for last minute reservations (pick-up within 48 hours).
