The climate in Gran Canaria is warm throughout the year and there are many hours of sunshine each day. There are, however, variations and the higher inland areas of the island can be quite cool at times. From July to September, the peak holiday season, the maximum temperature is often above 30°C. Visitors who like slightly cooler weather and less congestion may prefer to take their trip in the spring or autumn months. Even in the winter months, maximum temperatures can be in the low 20's (°C).
