What do I need to do when picking up a car?

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.

It should be noted clearly

It should be noted clearly on the booking information that the car collection time is AT the time given and not at anytime after within their opening hours. We arrived 30 minutes late as our booking information stated that the branch was open from 9am until 9pm and the building was closed. We had to call and wait 45 minutes for the staff member to return. Had the reservation details made clear that the branch would be closed after 30 minutes we would have been early / ensured we were very much on time!

I was hesitant to book

I was hesitant to book a car from Unirent as I have no previous experience with them, and I prefer to use well known car hire companies because of issues I have had using less well known companies in the past. It worked out fine however because all my dealings at the airport where with Eurocar and I don’t really understand the reasoning behind the Unirent brand especially as I was in two minds not to book a car from them and choose and alternative brand instead.
